john brown

John Brown is known as one of the most controversial activists in the abolitionist movement. One important concept in history is that perspectives are driven by a person's experiences. The purpose of this activity is to determine how John Brown's experiences prepared him to be a violent abolitionist.

1. You should begin by reviewing the John Brown timeline. Pay careful attention to the experiences Brown had that would lead him to his later activism.

2. Next you should complete the John Brown map activity, which links Brown's timeline to the geography of the US.

3. When you have finished both of the above acitivities, take the John Brown Quiz.
